Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle receives much-needed support from a loved one – and it’s not Mack Boyd
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone in Wednesday’s (February 28) episode of Emmerdale – but Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) had other ideas.
The beloved character had spiralled in the aftermath of killing Harry (Robert Beck), but things came to a dramatic conclusion last week when she accidentally stabbed Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Depsite Charity and Mack both back in the village, they are not on the same page. Mackenzie knows that Charity didn’t mean to attack him, but she currently believes it’s safer if he isn’t around her.
While Mack and other members of Charity’s family have been giving her space, Cain took a different approach tonight. He arrived at Jacobs Fold ready to talk to Charity, but she made it perfectly clear she’d much rather spend time with a bottle of vodka instead.
Taking action, Cain gave Charity an ultimatum – either she goes on a walk with him, or he’ll get Sam (James Hooton) to invite the entire Dingle clan to her house instead.
Grabbing the vodka and her coat, Charity reluctantly set off into the woods.
The aim of the walk was to get Charity to realise she needed professional help. She believed that counselling was for someone with ‘no perspective’ and knew it would be a lot easier if she found comfort in a bottle of alcohol instead.
Ultimately though, whatever avenue Charity went down to try and get out of therapy, she slowly came to realise that was probably the right answer.
She joked about speaking to Kyle (Huey Quinn), who killed Al Chapman, but Cain said that if she did, he would just tell her about the hours of counselling he had to help him move forward.
And when Cain made it clear to Charity that he wasn’t going to leave her alone, she gave in and said she’d think about talking to someone.
